KENNEBUNK -- Elizabeth Jane 'Betty' Gendron, 67, a resident of Western Avenue, Kennebunk, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness.
Betty was born in Biddeford on Oct. 25, 1944, the daughter of Frank W. and Madeline M. (Towne) Sargent. Betty graduated from Kennebunk High School the class of 1963. She was employed by the Nonantum Hotel of Kennebunkport for over 23 years as head housekeeper and she retired in 1999. Betty enjoyed gardening especially flowers, loved to watch birds and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her father; and her two brothers, Peter Sargent and David Sargent. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donald Gendron; her mother, Madeline Sargent; three daughters, Teresa Gamache and her husband Philip, Sandra Gendron and her partner Ken Ladd and Angela Gendron and her partner Blaine, White all of Kennebunk; two grandchildren, Chelsea Emerson and Meghan Emerson, both of Kennebunk; several aunts, uncles; nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the Holy Spirit Parish at St. Martha's Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kennebunk. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk www.bibberfuneral.com.
