Deceased Name: Bruce Blois
The Rev. Bruce D. Blois Naples, FL
Fr. Bruce, son of the late William and Mary (Kay) Blois, formerly of Attleboro, MA, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Avow Hospice after a brief illness.
Bruce leaves his beloved wife of 36 years, Theresa (Giovino) Blois.
Bruce was born in Attleboro, MA on January 17, 1942. Graduated from Attleboro High School in 1960. Attended Maerritta College in Ohio, graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio in 1964. Went to General Seminary in New York City, graduated with a Master's in theology in 1967.
In 1971, Bruce left the active ministry and was employed as a social worker for 30 years. On September 9, 1999, Bruce returned to the active ministry serving at St. Mark's Foxboro, Grace Church in North Attleboro, MA, interim rector at St. Paul's in Hopkinton, MA and served as rector at St. John's in Keokuk, IA for six years. Bruce retired in 2007 and moved to Naples, FL.
In addition to his wife, Bruce leaves a niece, Jeannette (Bob) Gamache of Wakefield, RI; a nephew, Jeffrey (Cindy) Cos of Westfield, MA; a special person in his life, Andreas Bialluch of Cologne, Germany; and his best friend in the world, his dog, Snickers. Two brothers-inlaw also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, William, Cora Cos, and Hazel Strest.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 3901 Davis Blvd., Naples, FL.
A memorial service will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
