ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif. - Helen (Willard) Saunders Missett, 100, of California and formerly of Springfield, died March 22, 2014 at Seaside Terrace Retirement Community in Fountain Valley, Calif.
Helen was born July 4, 1913 in Northampton, the daughter of the late Frank S. and Elizabeth Mae (Lovett) Willard. She was educated in Northampton and retired from the former Houser Buick of Springfield in 1978. She had moved to Springfield in 1940. Previously, she had been employed by the former Jones Volkswagen of Springfield and also the former Milhender Distributors.
She had been a communicant of Holy Name Church in Springfield prior to moving to California.
Helen was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Saunders, and also by her son, Robert G. Saunders. In addition she was predeceased by her siblings, Robert G. Willard, George E. Willard, Dorothy M. Holmes, and Marian D. Gamache. She is survived by her brother, Harold F. Willard of Northampton, and also by her sister, Katheleen G. Misterka of Amherst, a grandson, Ian Luce, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held at Pease and Gay Funeral Home, 425 Prospect St., Northampton Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
