- ELINOR "ELLIE" GRELL Obituary
Elinor ?Ellie? Louise (Gray) Grell, of Braham, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her home. She was 84 years old.
Ellie was born November 20,1941 in Braham, MN. She attended Braham High School graduating in 1959. She was united in marriage to Charles ?Carlie? Grell on October 31, 1959. Together they had four daughters, Julie, Jacki, Jeana and Jill.
Ellie and Carlie were very busy. From making the biggest garden in the summer to going up to the cabins snowmobiling in the winter and later taking their camper camping. Ellie made all of these trips so easy for all of us. She packed for 6 people every time and all we had to do was hop in the car and go.
In 1989 Ellie had the great idea of purchasing The Park Cafe. She loved it there. After owning the business for 11 years she sold it to Jeana and continued to work almost every day for the next 21 years. Ellie hired and educated so many teens over the years on how to work hard and have a great work ethic and most of them had quite a bond with her. One of them described her as the definition of Sass, Spunk and Love which is spot on. Receiving the Pie Day declaration from the governor of Minnesota was her greatest accomplishment during her time at the cafe. Ellie loved her daughters and grandchildren very much. She definitely had a soft spot for them all. She especially loved to give the grandkids socks with money hidden in them for Christmas. She will hold a special place in their hearts forever.
Ellie is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Emma Gray, son-in-law Eric Berglund; siblings and brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane Grell (Esther), Gordon Grell, Wesley Grell, Eugene Grell (Ginger), Floyd Ziesmer, Joe Davis, Doug Boquist, Evelyn Walberg (Stanley), Lorain Fix (John), Lucille Fredin (Kenny), Willis Gray (Ruth), Shirley Gray, and Diane Gray.
