COLETTE MOUREAUX-MARION
Peacefully, on January 23, 2021, Colette Moureaux-Marion, beloved wife of Joseph-Paul Marion, passed away at the age of 81.
Born September 24, 1939, in Thiébouhans, Doubs in France, Colette was the fourth of eight children born to Rémi Moureaux and Alice Buliard. In 1964, she left France for Canada where she joined the congregation of the Sisters in the service of the Mission in the diocese of Saskatoon where she celebrated 40 years of religious life. Certified in home care, she has spent many years serving people with special needs in Saskatoon, Calgary and Manitoba.
After 40 years of religious life, she met Joseph-Paul Marion, whom she married in December 2006. Colette and Paul lived 14 happy years together.
Colette was a woman of faith, beaming with joy and happiness even as the cancer took its course. In spite of her weakening health, she took care of her Paul whom she loved.
Her character and the kindness of her heart won her the affection of everyone she met. Proud of her French heritage, she often spoke lovingly of all her family far away with whom she often communicated.
Besides her husband Paul, Colette is survived by her family in France: Jeanne-Antide Sandoz, Paul (Geneviève), Pierre (Jeannine), Marie-Thérèse Cachod (Roger), Denis (Maryelle), her sister-in-law Anne-Marie Moureaux as well as nephews, nieces and friends; the Marion family: Jacqueline, Jean-Marc (Hélène) Claude (Laurie), Louise (Douglas), Jacques (Janine) and Paul; grandchildren: Tristan Field-Jones; Sébastien Marion (Danielle Gamache and their daughters Brielle and Belle), Nadia Marion (Thomas Hall); Danielle, Justin and Mélanie Marion; Luc, Robert and Marc Grant; the great Marion family and many friends. Her parents, her brothers Pierre and Hubert and her brother-in-law André Sandoz predeceased her.
The Marion and Moureaux families wish to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital as well as all those who have supported Colette over the past few weeks. Colette was always happy to take your calls and chat with you.
A private service and burial took place. Those who wish are invited to make a donation to a charity of their choice in memory of Colette.
