MARIE OLIVER OBITUARY
Oliver, Marie Doris COHOES Marie Doris Oliver, 97 of Cohoes, entered eternal life on September 26, 2022. Born on July 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Armstrong Jacques Jr. and Emily (Teal) Jacques. Marie remained a lifelong resident of Cohoes where she and her late husband, George Oliver Sr., raised their children. Marie loved to be surrounded by her family and hosted many Christmas Eve parties in her home, until her children and grandchildren outgrew her home in number. Singing and dancing was another of Marie's loves. She could often be found home on the weekends listening to polka music on the radio and dancing at family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. Marie spent many years vacationing in Sylvan Beach, N.Y. with several of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren throughout her years. Her presence in our lives will be greatly missed. Marie is survived by her loving children, Gary Oliver (Lynda), Sharon Harpis (William), Gerald Oliver Sr. (llah), Dawn Gamache (George), Susan Bryant, Bonnie Oliver, Deborah Costanzo, Sheila Primeau, all of Cohoes and Sandra Smith (Eric) of Schaghticoke. Marie is also survived by her longtime companion for almost 50 years, Paul Varin of Cohoes. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Shawn Morse, Jason Oliver, Robert Borter Jr., Rhonda Haynes, Gerald Oliver Jr., Dawn Weber, Barbara Borden, Darcy Brown, George Brown Jr., Tammy Carey, Anthony Dumesnil, Stacy Bryant, Dennis Bryant, Steven Weaver, Jamika Bryant, Orlando Bryant, Anthony Bryant, Melinda White, Kevin Perez Jr., Jammie Cook, William Caulkins Jr., Dwayne Primeau, George Primeau Jr., Joseph Primeau, Robert McLaughlin Jr., Eric Smith Jr., and several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. A five-generation legacy. She was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Dumesnil (Raymond); her sons-in-law, George Primeau Sr., and Anthony Costanzo Sr.; her granddaughters, Brenda Borter, Kimberly Dumesnil, and Melissa White; and her great-grandson, Ethan Perez. Marie was the sister of the late William O'Connor, Charles Jacques, David Jacques, and Armstrong Jacques Jr. Calling hours will be on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marra Funeral Home, 246 Columbia Street, Cohoes. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Reverend Nick Tebordo, of the United Church of Cohoes, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
