Stella was born in Radway, Alberta on the family farm and completed her post-secondary education at Alberta College. After several years of work at the Dominion Bank she married Peter where they operated the family farm in Redwater. While farm life involved hard work, it also gave her many rewards in the form of family, close friends and neighbors. Once Stella and Peter moved to Edmonton she channeled her energy into the working world and retired from Canada Customs. Both in Redwater and in Edmonton she was actively involved in the work of the church and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada. She held numerous executive positions both in the church and in the community. The close relationships with family and friends always energized her as well as sustaining her during difficult times. Stella's unwavering faith also gave her the courage and strength to face the challenges of her declining health with grace and dignity. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all those friends and family that visited and cared for Stella, especially during this last difficult year. Special thanks are extended to the staff and management of Laurier House Lynwood and Dr. G. Schwalfenberg for their exceptional care and compassion during Stella's time there.
