- Alvin Supansic Obituary
Alvin Ronald "Ronnie" Supansic, 69, of Aiken, S.C., formerly of McKeesport, died Monday, March 11, 2013. For 28 years, he was the beloved husband of Gloria Hoffman Macedonia Supansic. Born Oct. 18, 1943, in McKeesport, he was a son of Rose Schaffner Supansic, of McKeesport, and the late Alvin Supansic. Ronnie graduated from McKeesport High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He proudly served in the Marine Reserve and played minor league baseball for the Boston Red Sox. Ronnie was employed for more than 20 years at Dave Pyles Lincoln-Mercury in Annandale, Va., as the customer relations service manager. Ronnie retired to Aiken in 1999, where he was active in the Woodside Plantation's Men's Golf Association. He delivered Meals on Wheels and was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. An avid golfer he organized and participated in many golf tournaments. Ronnie was a sports enthusiast, and especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Ronnie was best known by his many friends for his special qualities: competitive spirit, love of life, generosity and, most importantly of all, his outgoing personality. He will always be remembered for his gutsy upbeat style and his compassion for his friends and family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Supansic. In addition to his wife and mother, Ronnie is survived by his two sons, Shawn Supansic, of Fairfax, Va., and Scott Supansic, of Aiken; grandson, Dorian Supansic; and his beloved dog, Charlie. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mitchell Berger and his staff, Liberty Home Care and Hospice Service for their excellent care and kindness shown to Ronnie and his family during his illness. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at St. Patrick Parish, 312 32nd St., McKeesport. A reception will follow at the church.
