Wilfrid A. Red Pouliot, 85, of Winter Haven, FL, died December 9, 2006, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Manchester, November 30, 1921, and was the son of Edouard and Laura (Drapeau) Pouliot. He lived most of his life in Manchester and had been a resident of Winter Haven, FL the past 26 years. He worked as a service engineer for National Cash Register Co. for 35 years. During his early years he worked at Eddie's Lunch on Amory St., a restaurant and catering service owned and operated by his parents from 1920 to 1956. An avid musician, he played the piano for the Sharp Notes, a band he owned and managed in the greater Manchester area for many years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Post 8, in Winter Haven, FL. He was predeceased by his fist wife, Therese Y. (Tetreault) Pouliot in 1991. In addition he was predeceased by a brother, Eugene E. Pouliot, and by a sister, Alice Bergeron. Family members include his wife, Ruth C. Hodge-Pouliot, of Winter Haven, FL; four sons, Richard E. Pouliot, of Hampton, NH, Gerald R. Pouliot, of Epsom, NH, David E. Pouliot, of Acworth, GA, and Daniel V. Pouliot, of Manchester; two daughters, Diane A. Wall, and Denise E. Gamache, both of Manchester; three brothers, Emile P. Pouliot, Alfred E. Bert Pouliot, and Edouard J. Pouliot, all of Manchester; two sisters, Edna Paquin, of Nashua, NH, and Lorraine O'Donnell, of Bedford, NH; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; four step children; and two step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 am at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery where a committal service will take place in the Mausoleum Chapel.
