Joseph Elzéar Paulin l'Acadie Nouvelle - February 15, 2005 SAINT-JEAN - Joseph E. Paulin, husband of Patricia (Chiasson) Paulin, domiciled in Saint-Jean, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Saint-Jean Regional Hospital. Jeans. Born in Bas-Caraquet on February 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Théotime and Emily (Albert) Paulin. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons: Gaston (Donna) of Wildwood, Ga., Jacques of Bangkok, Thailand, Rene (Gao) of United Arab Emirates and Timothy (Martha) of St. John; five daughters: Paulette Paulin of Toronto, Ont., Cathy Paulin, Andréa (Lawrence) Brooks, Lorraine Paulin (Wendy Gamache) and Martina (Philip) Blackmore, all of Saint John; six grandchildren: Lise (Michael) Brooks-Rowe of Saint John, Donald and Jamie Logan of Halifax, NS, Michael and Michelle Paulin and Claire Blackmore of Saint-Jean; one brother, François of Montreal; three sisters: Albertine LeJeune and Armantine (Gerald) Chiasson, both of Saint-Jean and Doris Chiasson of Bas-Caraquet, as well as several cousins, nephews and nieces. an infant son, Theotime; a sister, Priscille LeBouthillier, as well as two brothers: Augustin and Martin, predeceased him. Mr. Paulin was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Section #64 and a veteran of the Second World War. He served with the Cape Breton Highlanders and the Carleton York Regiment. He was wounded in Italy in 1944. He was a carpenter and a contractor. The remains are presently on display at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, St. John's (634-7424, www.brenansfh.com). The funeral will be held at Saint-Pius-X Church, Somerset Street in Saint-Jean, on Thursday, February 17, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery. Visiting hours: Tuesday, February 15, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, February 16, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or donor's choice would be appreciated.
