- [S5] Obituary.
Hélène (Leboeuf) Guertin (1933 - 2017) It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of our mother, Mrs. Hélène Leboeuf Guertin, on September 14, 2017, at the age of 84. She said goodbye to her children at the Hôtel-Dieu hospital in Sherbrooke. Hélène married Gérard Guertin. They lived 48 years of happiness and adventures until the death of dad. From this union were born 10 children, 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Our mother worked in tandem with our father as a butcher. She also contributed to the success of the Guertin house moving company and to the development vision of the Sommets du village de Stoke. Love, care and tenderness, Hélène was a mother devoted to the needs of the children who surrounded and she supported them in their development. She also welcomed 28 foster children into her home. For all of us, she was a very good confidante and good adviser. Our mother was playful, dynamic and loved to make those around her laugh. In her last moments, it was difficult for her to choose between leaving her kids and returning to her family. Rest in peace Mom. She is survived by her children: Patrice (Dijina Radevic), Francine (Paulin Goupil), Thérèse (late Pierre Lanciaux), Mario (Brigitte Mathieu), Normand (Mireille Gamache), Denis, Line (Marc-André Viens), Linda (Robin Ouimette), Lise (Marco Bérubé), Louise (Guy Joyal); his 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, late Bernard (Germaine), late Léonard (late Laurette), late Eugène (Jacqueline), late Aloys (Noëlla), late Blanche (late Lucien), Anne-Marie (late Normand), Sr Sarah, cnd, Léo (Lucile); his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Guertin family; late Patrice, late Victoria (late David), Lucienne (late Léonard), late Rosario (late Laurette), late Lucien (late Blanche), Rita (late Gérard), Nova (late Pierrette, Lucille), late Jos, late Edgard, late Évelyne (late Lucien) Irène, late Jeannine (Jean-Guy, Lucille). She also leaves to mourn many nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The family will welcome you at the Steve L. Elkas Inc. funeral home, 601 rue du Conseil, Sherbrooke, on Sunday, September 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 10 p.m. and Monday, September 25 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral will be celebrated on Monday, September 25 at 11 a.m. at Saint-Philémon Church in Stoke. The family thanks the CIUSSS Estrie CHUS (Hôtel-Dieu and Youville Hospital) for the good care provided to our mother. The last moments spent at our mother's bedside allowed us to see the loneliness of the elderly, which is why the family would be grateful for memorial donations made to the great family of the Little Brothers of Sherbrooke.
