- [S5] Obituary.
LAPIERRE, Germain 1922 - 2012 On January 9, 2012, died Germain Lapierre, husband of Laure Gamache. A native of Ste-Julie, he was the son of the late Napoléon-Paul Lapierre, notary, and the late Marie-Rose Lamoureux. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Jean, his daughter Monique, his granddaughters Maude and Rachel, his great-granddaughters Ève and Rose as well as many other relatives and friends. A pioneer of French-language books in Canada, a personal friend of many authors and publishers on both sides of the Atlantic, Germain worked during his long career at all levels of book publishing and distribution. His wife would like to thank the medical staff in the nephrology (dialysis) department for their dedication and professionalism. Instead of flowers, donations to the Cité de la Santé Foundation would be appreciated. According to his wishes, he will not be exposed. The family will receive condolences on Saturday, January 21 at 10 a.m. at the Parish of the Visitation, 1847 boul. Gouin est, Montreal, followed by the religious service at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the funeral complex 2159 boul.
