GRENIER (Abbé Luc) On November 3, 2004, Abbé Luc Grenier, son of the late Mr. Antoine Grenier and the late Mrs. Mathilda Marchand, died at his home at the age of 72 years and 7 months. He lived in Chicoutimi. The family will welcome relatives and friends on Sunday, November 7, 2004 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 10 p.m., on Monday, November 8, 2004 from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the Coopérative Funéraire de Chicoutimi 520, boul. Saguenay Est, Chicoutimi (in front of the Marina du Vieux Port) The funeral will take place on Monday, November 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the cathedral. He will be cremated at the Coopérative Funéraire de Chicoutimi crematorium and the ashes interred in the cemetery of St-Prime. He was the brother of: Lucille Grenier (Léopold Bergeron), late Gérard (Pierrette Perron), Valère (Lucette Garneau), late Gemma, Marie-Rose (late Paul Lavoie), Bertrand (Lyli Perron), Yvonnette (Raymond Simard), Simone (late Louis-Joseph Laberge), Rita (Réginald Gamache), Jules (Nicole Desmeules). He also leaves to mourn a great friend: Louisette Pelletier and her children, as well as several nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Father Luc Grenier was born in Saint-Prime, county of Roberval, on March 31, 1932, to Mr. Antoine Grenier and Mrs. Mathilda Marchand. He did his classical studies at the Séminaire du Sacré-Coeur in St-Victor de Beauce (1950-1958) and his theological studies at the Major Seminary of St-Boniface, Manitoba (1958-1961) and at the Major Seminary of Chicoutimi (1961). -1962). He was ordained a priest at the church of St-Jacques d'Arvida by Mgr Marius Paré, bishop of the diocese, on June 16, 1962. He was first vicar at the parish of Sainte-Claire in Chicoutimi-Nord, from July 1962 to August 1971 at the same time as pastoral animator at the Saguenay Regional School Board, in Chicoutimi, from November 1969 to 1971. He then went to the Cégep de Chicoutimi where he was also pastoral animator from 1972 to 1980. He then held the position of counselor for pedagogical and individual assistance from 1980 to 1995. Retiring at this time, he continued his priestly ministry until his sudden death by helping several confreres in the parish ministry.
