GÉLINAS M. DENIS 1939 - 2012 Peacefully and surrounded by love, at his home, on June 23, 2012, passed away at the age of 72 years and 6 months, Mr. Denis Gélinas, son of the late Blandine Bernier and the late Raymond Gélinas, husband of Mrs. Claudette Brassard, residing in Trois-Rivières (Cap-de-la-Madeleine sector). The family will receive relatives and friends at: JD Garneau Funeral Complex 274, rue Saint-Laurent Trois-Rivières (Cap-de-la-Madeleine sector) Reception hours: Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, day of the funeral, from 12 p.m. The funeral will take place on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Sainte-Famille church in Trois-Rivières (Cap-de-la-Madeleine sector). Burial will take place in Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Cemetery. Upon his departure, Denis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ms. Claudette Brassard; her beloved children: Mario (Marie Paré) of Cap-Santé, Chantal (Gilbert Roy) of Saint-Vallier; her adored grandchildren: Maxime and Gabrielle Gélinas, Stéphanie and Alexandre Gros-loup Roy; his brothers and sisters: Jacques (Lise Moreau), Irène (André Bergeron), Michel (Denise Blanchette), Pauline (Jean-Eudes Comtois), Jean-Guy (Francine Bertrand), Thérèse (Michel Binette), Yvon (Céline Gamache) ; still sisters-in-law: Lise Chevrette (late Roger Gélinas), Marie-Marthe Larose (late Marcel Gélinas); stepmother Jeannette René Brassard; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Louise (Guy Lemire), Lucie (Michel Traversy), Guylaine (Chip Pullen); still sister-in-law Rachel Pineault (late Benoit Brassard); his uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, as well as his goddaughter Ani Lemire, other parents and many friends, including those from Batiscan, La Cabane à sucre Le Rêve and Tim Hortons. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Carrier and the oncology team, for their attentiveness and their humanism. Special attention to the one he called his treasure, Isabelle Lafrenière, his pivot nurse for her constant presence, as well as to the palliative care staff at home: Chantale, Geneviève and Pierre-Luc.
