"Her generosity, her devotion to her loved ones and her inexhaustible love will leave an unforgettable memory to all those who had the chance to know her." On August 12, 2003, at the age of 91 years and 4 months, Mrs. Edith Deschênes, wife of the late Mr. Émile St-Pierre, passed away at the MRC de L'Islet Health Centre. Native of St-Adalbert, she made L'Islet-Sur-Mer her main residence for many years and in recent months at the Villa des Aulnaies. She went to join her daughter Louisette. She is survived by her daughter Pierrette (Fred Pettit), her son-in-law Richard Doyon (late Louisette); his grandchildren: Steeve and Jonathan Anctil, Sophie Doyon, Brian, Michelle and Sarah Caughlin and their father David Caughlin; his great-grandchildren Xavier and Olivier Anctil. She also leaves to mourn her sisters Eva (late Amédée Gamache), Hélène (late Aimé Duval), Yvonne (late Roger Lamarre), Gilberte (late Léopold Thibault); as well as members of the St-Pierre family, several nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The family generously thanks the palliative care team at the MRC de L'Islet Health Center, in particular Dr. Labrecque, for their dedication and the good care provided. Your expressions of sympathy may result in a donation to the MRC de L'Islet Health Services Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Forms will be available at the salon. The members of his family will welcome you at the funeral home De la Durantaye & Fils 39, des Pionniers Est, L'Islet on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday, day of the funeral, from 12 p.m. The religious service will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14 at 2 p.m., in the Notre-Dame de Bonsecours church in L'Islet, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
