Father Jean-Marie DeRoy 1920 - 2005 At Villa Saint-Jean in La Pocatière, on July 2, 2005, at the age of 84 years and 9 months, Father Jean-Marie DeRoy passed away. He lived in La Pocatière. The members of his family will welcome relatives and friends in the church of Saint-Gabriel-Lallemant Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday, the day of the funeral, from 2 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. The religious service will be celebrated on Friday, July 8, 2005 at 7 p.m., in the church of Saint-Gabriel-Lallemant and will be followed by burial in the parish cemetery. He was the brother and brother-in-law of: Sr Thérèse sscm, Sr Laura sscm, Norbert (Hélène Coulombe), Gilles (Thérèse Gamache), late Léo (late Marie-Anne Thibault), late Roland (late Léonie Coulombe), late Georges (late Simone Pelletier), late Marie-Anna (late Pierre Samson), late Georgette (late Joseph-Émile Morin), as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Born in Saint-Cyrille de L'Islet, September 21, 1920, to Mr. Freddy DeRoy and Mrs. Elmina Kirouac. He did his classical studies at the Séminaire du Sacré-Coeur, Saint-Victor de Beauce, and his theological studies at the Grand Séminaire de Québec. Was ordained a priest at the College of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière on June 13, 1948, by Bishop Maurice Roy. In 1949, he was appointed auxiliary priest at the Collège de Lévis. From 1950 to 1956, curate at Sainte-Perpétue. From 1956 to 1962, professor at the Ecole Supérieure d'Agriculture, La Pocatière; from 1962 to 1965, professor at the College of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière. From 1956 to 1966, he was also diocesan chaplain of the Mouvement Lacordaire. In 1966, studies in Lille in family and worker pastoral. In 1967, he was appointed Director General of Catholic Action. In 1969, became parish priest of Saint-Gabriel-Lallemant. From 1980 to 1986, parish priest of Sainte-Perpétue and Sainte-Félicité. In 1986, he was appointed auditor for the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Quebec. In 1992, retired to the College of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière and became an occasional substitute for the colleagues and subsequently retired to the Villa Saint-Jean.
