EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Alice (Caron) Ouellette, 88, of East Hartford, formerly of Fall River, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph M. Ouellette and daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Eleanor (St. Laurent) Caron. Born in Fall River, she was educated in the city schools. Mrs. Ouellette was a communicant of St. Jean Baptiste Church and a member of the Sodalite des Dames de Ste. Anne. She owned and operated Alice's Variety Store in Fall River for many years. Survivors include four daughters, Irene St. Laurent of East Hartford, Anita Heap of Taunton and Claire Polite and Janet Ouellette, both of San Diego; three sisters, Eva Gamache of Taunton and Emma Neuman and Irene Caron, both of Fall River; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Jacques Church, 249 Whittenton St., Taunton. Arrangements are by Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton.
