BOUCHARD, HELEN LUCILE, 89. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the home of her granddaughter, Christina (Spencer) Krasinski and her husband, Scott, in Tawas City, Michigan, where she spent the last two years under their loving care. Helen lived her long and busy life with a strong faith in God, and a positive outlook on life that she passed down to her family.
Helen was born February 7, 1929 in East Tawas Michigan to William and Margaret (Cadorette) Woizeschke. Helen graduated from East Tawas High School and was a lifelong resident of Tawas. She married Joseph P. Bouchard, Sr. on September 13, 1947, and together they raised a family of nine children. Helen and Joe were counted among the founding families of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Tawas City, and Helen served IHM and St. Joseph?s in many ways, including volunteering in the schools in her spare time. After many years of raising the children, she worked as a cook and a baker at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility, and helped her husband manage the National Gypsum Credit Union. In her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed their travels to various parts of the Americas to visit family, or to winter with her family and friends in South Texas. Our mom left us with so many loving memories, stories, and laughs.
Surviving are her nine children: Phyllis (Kenneth) Spencer, Tawas City, MI; Joseph Bouchard Jr., St. Charles, MI; Clara (Richard) Martin, Chesaning, MI; William Bouchard, Oconomowoc, WI; Mary (Chris) Lardie, Winter Garden, FL; Ann (Steven) Leslie, East Tawas, MI; James (Joan) Bouchard, Fresno, CA; John, (Mary) Bouchard, Raleigh, NC; Margaret (Paul) Lied, Kenosha, WI. Her family included 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters: Margaret Holmes and Dorothy (William) Cronk; Sister in Law: Phyllis Walraven, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, Joseph P. Bouchard, Sr. on July 22, 2014. Helen was also predeceased by Parents: William and Margaret Woizeschke; Sisters: Carol Ryan and Jean Willett; Sister-in-law: Cecilia Shillair; and Brothers-in-law: Andy Holmes, William Ryan Sr., Cal Willett, Harold Bouchard, Virgil Shillair, and John Walraven;
Cremation has taken place and a service is planned for Friday, March 16, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. Visitation of family and friends will start at 10:00 am, and mass will begin at 11:00 am.
Those planning an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers may wish to consider donations to the Holy Family School of Tawas, where Helen sponsored tuition for needy students, or, to Compassus Hospice.
God saw her getting tired, A cure not meant to be, So He wrapped His arms around her, And whispered, ?Come with Me!?
