At the Thetford Mines Hospital Center, surrounded by the love of her family, on March 26, 2021, passed away at the age of 85, Mrs. Carmen Setlakwe (Languerand), wife of Mr. Richard Setlakwe, domiciled in Thetford Mines.
Carmen was born in St. Albans, Vermont, but came to Thetford Mines in her early twenties to work at Lake Asbestos. It didn't take long for Richard to notice the new girl in town and the rest, as they say, is history.
Carmen loved skiing, golfing and fishing. Anyone who met her knows that she was also an exceptional cook, she even learned to cook all the best Armenian food from the women of the old country. We will all do our best to continue what she taught us. She has had unforgettable trips with her family and good friends, including the famous ski trips to Europe !! Above all, she adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Richard, her children: Mark (Kelly McGuire), the late Michael, the late Andrew (Guylaine Gamache) and Lisa (Nathan Gorall).
She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Jenna, Danielle, Alex-Ann, John, Olivia and Oscar.
From the great Languerand family, she was the daughter of the late Lionel Languerand and the late Antoinette Desroches, sister of the late Helen (James Brouillette), Jeanne (Jim Brady), Jos (Cathy), René ?Pete? (Dee Dee), Evelyn (Jerry Helvey), André (Cecile), the late Denise, the late Marcel, the late John.
From the Setlakwe family, she was also the sister-in-law of Raymond (Yvette Bourque) and Stephan (Colette Talbot).
She will also be sadly missed by her nephews and nieces, many other friends and all the employees of Magasin A. Setlakwe Ltée, in particular ?the office gang?, with whom she had so much fun and for whom she had a lot of love. 'love.
