Mary Ann Grant, formerly of Greenfield MA, and currently of Gales Ferry, CT went home to be with the Lord on March 13th, 2021 surrounded by her family.
She was born April 30, 1939 in Hanover, NH to Addie Richardson who predeceased her. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of almost 64 years, Charles R. Grant and their three children, Debra Parent (Kenneth) of Erving, MA, Daniel Grant (Chrissy) of Gilsum, NH, and Lori Gamache (Richard) of Gales Ferry, CT. She also leaves behind two brothers, Duane Brown (Barbara) of Glastonbury, CT, and Philip Decato of Greenfield, MA, in addition she leaves behind six grandchildren and her five great grand children as well as many nieces and nephew's.
Mary worked as a nurse's aide for several nursing home facilities. She loved the patients and did extra special things for them like, baking their favorite pies and cookies. She attended the Salvation Army church in Greenfield where she was a youth leader with her husband. She taught bible lessons in a women's group and ministered to the community during hardships. She loved crocheting mittens to give away, she enjoyed reading doing puzzles, taking trips to Maine and cooking for her family. Her ministry of loving those who felt unloved was one of her most Beautiful attributes. Mary's love for animals was a tremendous blessing as she cared for many throughout her life. She will be missed by all whom had the honor of knowing her.
In respecting the wishes of our mother there will be no services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your local animal shelter or favorite charity.
