Wilbraham- Michael Roy, age 59, of Wilbraham, Massachusetts was the definition of resilience. After courageously battling bronchitis and emphysema, he was given a second chance at life. He received a double lung transplant in 2002 and survived countless procedures and diagnoses until he graciously lost his battle to cancer on Monday, December 7th, 2020. He was cared for by some of the most kind and brilliant professionals, but it was Mike?s will to live that was truly extraordinary. Mike was incredibly motivated and always looking to the future. Whether it was getting out of the hospital or moving on to the next project or job, he took immense pride in his work and helping others. He could fix almost anything and was always there to lend a hand. Mike was known as ?the boss?; always delegating, telling stories and sharing his honest opinions. He understood the importance of life and wanted to spend as much time with his family and friends as possible. Mike was the rock of his family. He was a devoted father, an adored Pépère, a loving brother and a great friend. He is irreplaceable. On his final day, he was surrounded by his daughters whom he loved more than anything else in the world. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Liane Roy, brother Claude Roy, and niece Jennifer Reardon. He leaves behind his daughters Melinda Grono, Christina Herrick, and Patricia Roy; his siblings Lise Boilard, Doris Labrecque, Jeannette Mercik, Suzanne Gamache, Irene Roy, Linda Vincellette and Donald Roy; his six grandchildren, son-in-laws, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and close friends. Although he will be dearly missed, his family and friends find comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain. He will forever be in their hearts.
