  Died: The Freymuth family were charter members of the 500-member "Giessen Society" for emigration to USA. The Society chartered two ships Medora and Olbers, and divided the members among the two. Members on the Medorawere led by Fredrick Munch from Bremen to Baltimore MD, and from there to Pittsburg PA by wagon, and to St. Charles MO via river boat on the Ohio River. Members on the Olbers were led by Paul Follenius from Bremen to New Orleans LA, and from there to St. Charles MO via river boat on the Mississippi River. Photocopies of official travel documents (Prussian Exit Visa) for the Johannes Freymuth family dated 1833 & 1834 are on file. Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Freymuth only made it up the Mississippi as far as Memphis before dying of cholera, leaving her husband with 10 kids.
