  [S2] Obituary. New Castle Courier Times Saturday, August 30, 1975 Deaths Samuel M. Azen Samuel M. Azen, 56, died Friday afternoon in Norton Hospital, Louisville, Ky. A native of New Castle and the brother of Mrs. Joe Shapiro, 615 Cherry Street, he was the vice president of the Troxell Corporation which runs about 200 retail stores. He was graduated from the New Castle high school and from Indiana University, was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and was discharged from the Air Force with the rank of Major. Surviving are his wife, Pauline; two sons, Arthur and Marshall of Louisville; a brother, Harry Azen of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Shapiro. Mr. Azen was the son of Abe and Eadka Azen, prominent New Castle merchants for many years. They operated a large grocery business on S. 18th St. at a time when the automobile business was highly seasonal, and were known to extend credit to many families during the slack season. Samuel Azen lived with Mr. and Mrs. Shapiro during the time he was in high school and for a period following the Korean War. Funeral services are to be held in the Herman Meyer Funeral Home at Louisville at 2 p.m. Sunday, and burial will take place Monday in Michigan City.
