Thomas Joseph Gamache Sr. (Tom), 76, of Camarillo, passed away on June 4, 2024,
after a lengthy illness.
Tom was born on April 3, 1948, to Dolores and Claude in St. Louis Missouri. After Tom
graduated from St Mary's High school in 1966, he went on to serve his country in the
Navy from 1967 thru 1971 receiving numerous medals.
Tom met his wife Sharon whom he married on March 26, 1994. Along with marrying
each other they united two families and created one family.
He was an amazing family man. He loved all his children and spending time with them
from holidays, barbeques, going out to dinner or just hanging out at home with them.
Later in life his grandkids and great grandkids were everything to him.
In 2010, Tom retired from Point Mugu Naval Base as a Client Liaison Officer. He found
solace in his gardening, where his hand nurtured life from the earth itself. His love for
gardening was not just about tending to plants; it reflected his nurturing spirit, always
eager to see growth and beauty flourish.
Camping under the open sky with Sharon and friends brought him joy and peace,
connecting him to the natural world he cherished. It was in those moments,
surrounded by nature's majesty, that he found his truest sense of freedom and
contentment.
But what truly defined him was his unwavering generosity. He selflessly lent his skills
and time to aid family and friends in their home projects or volunteering at St John?s
hospital never seeking anything in return. His kindness knew no bounds, his
willingness to help a testament to the depth of his compassion.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother Dolores, father Claude, and brother Mike.
He is survived his by loving wife of 30 years Sharon, his children Crystal Noriega and
her husband Oscar, Yvette Gamache, Thomas Gamache Jr, Cindy Salas, and Jennifer
Tovar. His siblings Jeanne Lindenbush, Raymond Gamache, Mary Akin, James Gamache,
Robert Gamache, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchild and numerous nieces and
nephews
Our family would like to thank Jessica Salas(granddaughter), who took exceptionally
loving care of her grandfather to the very end.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday July 02, 2024, at Santa Clara
Cemetery 2370 N H St, Oxnard, CA 93036. Reception to follow at 2750 Waverly Ave,
Camarillo, CA 93010 at 2:00 pm
