FALL RIVER -- Sister Lillian Marie Renee Thibault R.J. M., 92, of Highland Avenue, formerly of Plainville, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at Catholic Memorial Nursing Home. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse A. and Lumina (Gamache) Thibault. Sister Renee attended Jesus Mary Academy High School. She graduated from Manhattan College in New York and did graduate work at St. Michael's College, Vermont. She entered the convent on Oct. 14, 1931, in Sillery, Quebec, and took her vows on Feb. 8, 1934, in Sillery. Sister Renee taught at Precious Blood School and Holy Family School in Woonsocket, R. I.; Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Charles School in Providence; Jesus Mary Academy in Fall River; Villa Augustine School in Goffstown, N.H.; and at Woonsocket High School. After she retired from teaching, Sister Renee traveled to many states and foreign countries, begging for her missions. She was devoted to helping the poor in this way, and kept up her efforts until she became a resident at Catholic Memorial. As a retired religious of Jesus and Mary, Sister Renee lived in Hyattsville, Md.; Thevenet Mission Center, Fall River; in the convent in Plainville; and at Catholic Memorial Nursing Home. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Henriette Thibault; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous cousins. She was the sister of the late Rene Thibault and Irene Barrette. Her funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the St. Margaret Mary Chapel at Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway.
