Lucille Nancy Duffey, 87, formerly of Newport, NH passed away at the Woodlawn Care Center, Friday evening, February 21, 2014.
Nancy was born in Newport, NH, October 23, 1927, daughter to the late Arthur Lee and Bertha Rose Hannah (White) Gamash.
She was raised and educated in Newport and graduated from Towle High School with the Class of 1946, and was a past member of the United Methodist Church.
She worked at Dorr Woolen as a frame spinner retiring after 39 years there. Following her retirement she became a Senior Companion for many years, which she found very fulfilling. Nancy enjoyed crocheting and working around her home especially with her grandchildren having many varied adventures with them.
She is survived by her daughter: Sally W. Davis and her husband, Dave, of Sunapee, 2 grandchildren: Kathleen Davis, Corey Davis and his wife, Lisa, and 4 great-grandchildren: Kaela Davis & Colin Downing, Austin Davis and Brendan Davis and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter: Carol Duffey on February 21, 2005, and her siblings: Cynthia Hansen, Phyllis Bush, June Leslie, Donald Gamash and Ruth Colby.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street in Newport. Friends may call on the family from 10-11AM Wednesday morning.
Burial will take place in the springtime at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
