Deceased Name: Herman Arthur Harnois
SWANTON - Mr. Herman Arthur Harnois, age 79 years, a lifelong Swanton educator and school principal died Saturday afternoon, July 21, 2012, in Fletcher Allen Health Care.
Born in Alburgh on, Feb. 11, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur Jeffrey and Dorothy (Brow) Harnois. On July 8, 1961, he was married to the former Juliette Cadieux, who survives him.
In addition to his wife, Julie, of 51 years, Herman leaves two daughters Lisa Fitzpatrick and her husband, Matthew of Portland, Conn., and Lynn Imel and husband, Jerry of Owings, Md.; three grandchildren Shannon and Erin Fitzpatrick and Kimberly Imel; two sisters Eleanor Wells and Beverly Mumley (Robert); brothers and sisters-in-law John Cadieux (Ida), Yvonne Briggs (Fred), Rejanne Fuller (Clifford), Germaine Palmer, Mary Gamache (Gerry) and Anita Starr (Robert) as well as many nieces nephews and many wonderful neighbors and friends.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father Emmanuel I. Ajanma will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Harnois family lot in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
