Michael L. Thomas Sr., 52, of Chuluota died Saturday in Orlando following a long illness.
Born in Bennington, Vt., he was a son of Ralph and Ruth Beade Thomas. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
He served in the Army in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. He was later an auditor for the U.S. Department of Defense. He was later stationed at Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine, for nine years. He worked at Martin Marietta in Florida for 16 months.
He married Claudette Livernois on Feb. 14, 1987, in Bath. He enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting, fishing and family times.
He was a member of the Union Park Christian Church in Florida and was active in Elim Assembly of God Church in Bath.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Michael L. Jr. of Chuluota; two stepsons, Adam and Joel Gamache, both of Durham, Maine; a stepdaughter, Angela Gamache of Durham; and a brother, Gordon of Granville, N.Y.
Visiting hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at David E. Desmond Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath. A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Elim Assembly of God, 756 Middle St., Bath.
