  [S5] Obituary. North Stonington - John Paul Zappe, of North Stonington, born May 2, 1923, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores Zappe, of 47 years. He served in the Army Air Force in World War II. He was an accountant for many years and was treasurer for his church, Mystic Congregational, and North Stonington Land Alliance, The Historical Society of North Stonington and The Westerly Hospital Auxiliary and was also a hospital volunteer. He loved the outdoors, boating and model railroads. He was predeceased by his parents, Max and Lillian of Hamden; and his sisters, May Brigham and Fern Krampfurt; and brother, Robert Zappe. He is survived by his sister, Carol Gamache. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be Saturday December 13, 2014, which is private in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic. Dinoto Funeral Home of Mystic is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to North Stonington Library in honor of education in which he had great love for.
