Joseph Medas Jr.
United States Navy veteran, truck driver for JP Noonan Transportation of West Bridgewater
Joseph Medas Jr., 80, of Bridgewater, Oct. 30, 2008.
Husband of 58 years to Gloria (Gaskill) Medas.
Son of the late Joseph Medas Sr. and Rose (Lawrence) Medas.
Mr. Medas was born in Bridgewater and was a life long resident of Bridgewater. He attended Bridgewater schools and joined the United States Navy after his high school graduation.
After the war, Mr. Medas worked for The Independent Nail Factory in Bridgewater and later drove trucks for Rapid Line Express. He retired from JP Noonan Transportation of West Bridgewater after 28 years. After retirement, Mr. Medas took a part time job as a school bus driver for Lucini Bus Lines of West Bridgewater.
He could often be found gardening or doing yard work. He enjoyed camping, traveling, dancing, country western music and watching car #24 during NASCAR.
Mr. Medas leaves his children, Linda Perrault of Winchendon, Joseph Medas III and his wife Jacqui of Brockton and Rev. Michael B. Medas of Brighton; his seven grandchildren; his 13 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Clara Hockenberry of Wareham and Jerome ?Jake? Medas of Florida; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Tony Medas, Richard Medas, and Irene (Medas) Gamache.
