Richard E. Gagne 1940 - 2012 INDIAN ORCHARD - Richard E. Gagne, 71, passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2012. He was the loving husband of June (Salamon) Gagne; father of James R. Gagne and Jason R. Gagne and beloved grandfather of Hunter Gagne of Waterville, ME and Abigail Grace Gagne of Agawam, MA. He also leaves a brother, Lawrence J. Gagne of Stockton, CA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Joy Unwin and Joel and Marcia Salamon. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Lucille (Gamache) Gagne. Richard worked for Milton Bradley Co., Western Publishing in Racine, Wisconsin and also for M.A.R.E. in Boston. He was an Army reservist in Ludlow for an armored division. He was an avid photographer, fly fisherman and reader and also loved bicycling with his best friend, Robert Lucas. He volunteered at Indian Orchard Elementary and was also a volunteer at Immaculate Conception Church helping to make pierogis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 assembling at 10:00 a.m. at Nowak Funeral and Cremation Services and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Friday, January 13, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
