Vera E. Urbano WEST TRENTON Vera E. Urbano, 93, of West Trenton, passed away peacefully Nov. 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the Birches in Newtown, PA. Born in Ridgeway, SC, Vera resided in the West Trenton area since 1948. She was a retired LPN where she worked at the Helene Fuld Medical Center, and also worked at her late husband's family business, Freddie's Tavern Inc. as the hostess for over 45 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ewing and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Daughter of the late James and Martha (Perry) Cooper, wife of the late Philip P. Urbano, sister to the late Bert, Claudie and Paul Cooper, Isabelle Littleton, June (Sonny) Rosso, and Anne Miller, brothers-in-law, Nick Urbano, Calvin Bastedo, and Phillip Nichols, sisters-in-law, Theresa (Michael) Estok, Kathleen Urbano and Carolyn (Bud) Eitnier. Vera is survived by her daughters, Terri L. Nelson and her husband, Thomas, of Ewing and Martha F. Gamache and her husband, Donald, of Citrus Springs, FL. She was the devoted grandmother of Thomas Nelson Jr. and his wife, Kate, Philip P. Nelson and Amanda Ferrogine, Neil Gamache and his wife, Susie, and Donna Gamache and her wife, Noreen Wisniowski, great-grandmother to Olivia, Chase and Harper Nelson, Ashley and Lori Barr, Annie and Chris Dotson, Cody Gamache, Rob, Becky and Kate Thielemann, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Vera will be sadly missed by her sister, Helen Nichols, brothers-in-law, Fred Urbano and Charles Miller, sisters-in-law, Irma Martz, Mary Bastedo, Margaret Babecki and Annette Cooper, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Hartmann Memorial Home, 2830 Nottingham Way, Mercerville NJ 08619. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. till time of the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Ewing Church Cemetery in the family plot. A memorial service will be held in Vera's hometown of Ridgeway, SC, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
