Lawrence E. Dennis, 65, husband of Mary (Cote) ''Pat'' Dennis, of Chandler, AZ, died Monday (Feb. 15, 1999) at Desert Samaritan Hospital, Mesa, AZ. Born in Ludlow, MA, April 29, 1923, son of the late Lawrence E. and Jean (MacPhail) Dennis, he had lived in South Windsor before moving to Arizona 15 years ago. Mr. Dennis was employed by the Windsor School System for 30 years and before retiring, he was Principal of the former L.P. Wilson Juior High School in Windsor. He received his under graduateand graduate degrees from Westfield State Teacher's College, Westfield, MA, and did additional graduate work at the University of Hartford. He was a member of the Connecticut and National Associations of Secondary School Principals. Mr. Dennisserved in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre and in Korea. He was a former communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor, and was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Society. Along with his wife, he leaves two sons anddaughters-in-law, Bruce L. and Merry Dennis of Coventry; and Timothy J. and Jan Dennis of Portsmouth, RI.; two daughters and a son- in-law, Jeanne and Joseph Archambault of South Windsor; and Rosemary L. Dennis of Northampton, MA; a sister and brother-in -law, Edith and Wilfred Gamache of Southern Pines, NC; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may gather Wednesday, 9 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook. His family will receive friends Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
