Deceased Name: Patricia L. Szymanski
Patricia L. Szymanski, age 79 of Third Avenue in Stronach, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Manistee County Medical Care Facility in Manistee.
She was born on June 27, 1927 on the old Baker Farm in Stronach, the daughter of the late August and Frances (Washneske) Baker Jr.
Patricia attended school in Stronach as a young lady. She married Clarence Szymanski on July 1, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1977.
Most of her life Pat worked in the local garment factories in Manistee. Pat was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee.
She is survived by one daughter: Carla Gamache of Onekama, MI, two sons & one daughter-in-law: Clarence & Angela Szymanski and Scott Szymanski all of Stronach, MI, 8 Grandchildren: Christopher Szymanski, Erica (Adam) Saum, Carrie Szymanski, Jacob Szymanski, Joshua Szymanski and Jenny, Holly and Joseph Gamache and one sister-in-law, Bernadine Baker of Oak Hill, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in in death in addition to her parents and husband, by one sister: Dorothy Kotarak, and three brothers, Virgil, Willie and Edward Baker.
Mass From the Order of Christians will be celebrated Monday May 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend James Bearss celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee.
Evening Prayer From the Order of Christian Funerals will be prayed Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee where friends may begin calling Sunday after 2:00 p.m. The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. and again in the evening from 7 - 9 p.m. to receive friends.
A memorial has been established in Patricia's name for Manistee Catholic Central Schools. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The Herbert Funeral home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
