Marshall Jordan Arnold passed away on January 18, 2014 in Naples, FL. He was born to Harold Arnold and Anna (Friedman) Arnold on May 30, 1925 in Worcester, MA.
He served in the Navy during WW II and was stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. After the war, he married Verna (Kimball) Arnold (deceased) and settled in the Washington DC area. He established Wheaton Tile Center in Wheaton, MD in 1954 which he owned until he retired in 1992. His true passion was to play the drums which he did professionally in the Navy as well as in the Washington, DC area. He married Andrea Goldspiel, the love of his life, in 1998. He moved to Naples, FL in 1995 while spending summers in Ocean City, MD.
He enjoyed being near the water, whether it be the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean. He had a love affair with his boat and would often be seen cruising the Gordon River and the Gulf of Mexico. He also enjoyed taking cruises abroad as well as to the Caribbean and Alaska.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Andrea; his daughter, Harlene Stanchfield; his son, Robert Arnold and his wife, Anita; his late sister, Elaine White; his late brother, Lester Arnold; his stepchildren, Denise Gamache and her husband, Michael; Michael Goldspiel and his wife, Danielle; grandfather to Michael and David Stanchfield; and stepgrandfather to Steven Gamache, Haidyn and Cooper Goldspiel. He also leaves behind many lifelong and loyal friends.
Services will be held on January 23, 2014 11:00 a.m., at the Danzanski-Goldberg Funeral Home in Rockville, MD.
The family would request donations to Avow Hospice in Naples, FL and the American Cancer Society.
