TYNGSBORO Robert D. Edie Jr., 35, of Tyngsboro, a mechanic in Lowell who was also an accomplished scuba diver, died unexpectedly Monday, April 12, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. He was the husband of Kimberly Anne (Gamache) Edie.
He was born in Lowell on March 7, 1969, a son of Barbara (Trouville) Edie of Lowell, and Robert D. Edie Sr. and his wife Lorna of Billerica. He was raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School in 1989.
Mr. Edie was employed for the past 12 years as a mechanic at Lo-Law Transit Management in Lowell
He was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut.
He was a scuba diver, certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructions (PADI). Mr. Edie also enjoyed boating and riding all-terrain vehicles.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a brother, Shane R. Edie of Billerica; a sister, Lauren Edie of Billerica; his maternal grandmother, Ann Walton of Maysville, Ga.; his paternal grandmother, Louise Butler of Lowell, He also leaves his wife's parents, Leon and Ethel Gamache of Chelmsford; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
