On a beautiful Friday morning Armand J. Gamache, Jr., lost his valiant fight with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Armand Gamache Sr., and Mary (Counter) Gamache. Armand leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Maureen (O'Connor) Gamache; his seven children, Robert (Barbara) Gamache, Dawn Gamache Facto, Cheryl Gamache, Molly Henderson, with whom he lived, Armand (Dawn) Gamache III, Terry (Yolanda) Gamache and Brian (Chris) Gamache. He also leaves his brother Hugh (Gail) Gamache; a sister, Jean Gamache; his beloved 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his best friend Lily. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Folbrook, and two brothers, George and Francis Gamache. Armand enjoyed fishing, family gatherings and helping his family in all ways. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank his caregivers from Baystate V.N.A., Karen, Sharon, Josey and special thanks to Amy. The Funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Baystate V.N.A., 50 Maple Street, P.O. Box 9058, Springfield, MA 01102; Chalice of Salvation, P.O. Box 1730, Springfield, MA 01102 or the charity of one's choice .
