- [S5] Obituary.
Othilda E. Gundrum, nee Wenninger of West Bend was called by our Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, to join "Dad," her beloved husband, and all the angels and saints in heaven at the age of 96 years. She was born on Nov. 16, 1916, in West Bend to the late John and Anna (nee Heindl) Wenninger.
On Aug. 1, 1936, she was united in marriage to Andrew Gundrum at St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Hubertus.
While Andrew was employed outside of the home, Othilda kept up everything at home, which included gardening, yard work, sewing, cooking, canning, cleaning and everything in between. They had a loving and compatible marriage, until Andrew died tragically in a car accident on March 4, 1986.
Othilda managed to pick up the pieces and go on with her life. She found strength through prayer, faith, her church and her family. She was someone that we could always go to with our problems and concerns, always willing to listen, was never judgmental and, at the same time, not losing sight of her own values. She was a good wife and mother, a good Christian, and a good example for everyone who came in contact with her. The world will not be the same without her. The family is very grateful to our Lord, for giving us such a wonderful mother and father.
