Shirley May King, age 82, of Thornton, Colorado passed away on Tuesday November 28, 2017. Shirley was born March 4, 1935 in Indanola, Nebraska. The family moved to Colorado she was raised here. Shirley's parents were John & Mary Teel. Shirley married George King on July 23, 1952 in Denver, Colorado, they were married 65 years. She loved her family and friends. She loved to "shop til she dropped", and came home with many treasures. She loved the holiday's especially Christmas. She decorated every square inch of the house. She loved gardening, her garden's and yard won numerous awards. She collected Gnomes & Rocks and spread them through out her garden's. She loved music and dancing and was an amazing dancer and was always singing. She had a engaging smile and was extremely friendly and would talk to anyone and never judge them. She was always there for her family and friends and ready to help in anyway she could. Shirley is survived by her husband George Children, Diane, Donna,Patrick, Michael, and Daniel. Grandchildren and great grandchildren to numerous to mention. Shirley was a bright light in all their lives and now the world is a little darker and sadder. Shirley will be missed beyond words.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, December 8, 2017 at Olinger Highland Chapel, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado 80229.
A reception will be held immediately following the service at 10036 Quivas Street, Thornton, Colorado.
