Mr. Gamache left us on June 14, 2025, a few weeks after reaching the milestone of his 98th birthday.
Professionally, he began a career in the railway industry at the age of 16 and worked there until his retirement.
Very involved throughout his life in the Chambly community, his contribution was particularly appreciated by the Fort Chambly School Board during the reconstruction of the Jacques de Chambly school, the Mont-Fort School Board and the Adelphis Lareau Foundation.
A keen sportsman, he volunteered for over 10 years at the Mont Sutton Ski Club. Until last May, he also participated in bowling and pétanque leagues.
Husband of the late Jeannine Bouthillier, he is survived by his partner Nancy Norman, his sister Fernande Gamache Lemelin, his children Céline (Martial), Daniel (Danielle) and Claude (Dolores), his grandchildren Simon, Mariemaude, Audrée and Mathieu, his great-grandchildren Florence, Jasmine, Flavie and Philippe, as well as many relatives and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Desnoyers Funeral Complex, located at 1981 boulevard Périgny, Chambly J3L 4C3, on Saturday, July 5, 2025, starting at 11 a.m. A ceremony will be held in the complex's chapel at 2 p.m. that same day.
