Gamache Charles Robert March 7, 1920 - October 28, 2008 Son of Eugene and Aurore; Brother to Gertrude, Rosa, Remi, Oscar, Gilbert and Leo; Husband of 67 years to Kathleen; Father to Irene, Stella, Lloyd, Bob, Larry, Helen, Gary, Carol, Jacque, Norma Jean, Kathleen, Phillip Morris and Daniel; predeceased by sister Roland and daughter Sherree; passed away in the excellent care of the George Derby Center. Born in Mont Joli, Quebec, Charles made his way to New Brunswick in 1939 where he joined the Canadian Army and served as a Scout in WWII. After an honorable discharge in 1941, he received several medals including the Defense medal, War medal and Canadian Volunteer Service medal. Residing in the lower mainland since 1968, he applied his trade as a Class A Machinist. His activities included golf, bowling, fishing and playing cards. Hobbies included restoring furniture and collecting various memorabilia. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 2 at 11:00 am at the Langara Golf Course, 6706 Alberta Street.
