- KING, Virginia Marie (Age 95) Our dear Aunt, Virginia King, went to be with our Lord on November 23, 2013. Virginia was born June 16, 1918 in Spokane, WA., to Louis and Theresa King. She grew up in Spokane, the oldest of three girls, attending St. Aloysius Grade School, Holy Names Academy and Holy Names College. Music played an instrumental part in Virginia?s life. She started piano lessons at age seven and became an accomplished pianist and organist. As gifted young pianists and music majors, Virginia and her dear friend, Anne Roe, were prominent as a piano team in music circles of the city, frequently entertaining at various social affairs and musical events. Virginia was a Teacher and Music Supervisor for 33 years at Pasadena and Millwood Grade Schools. A long-time member and organist at St. Aloysius Church, attending from the age of eight, she accompanied the St. Aloysius Adult Choir for 40 years. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Altar Society, the Catholic Business and Professional Women, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and Project Joy. Virginia dearly loved her family and she took a devoted interest in all of our lives. Hosting her annual Holiday get-together and sing-a-long was always a joyous time for her. In addition to playing the piano, she enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and gardening, taking great pride in her beautiful roses. Virginia?s kind, caring heart and most generous spirit guided her to faithfully donate to numerous charitable organizations. We will dearly miss our beloved Aunt Ginna. Virginia is survived by her nephews Dan Bosch and Bill (Gina) Bosch of Yakima, WA, Bob Bosch of Seattle, WA; nieces Carol (Joe) Schoentrup and Terri (Stuart) Hart of Spokane; grand-nephews Adrian, Ben, Todd and Drew; grand nieces Heather, Elizabeth and Ellie; great-grand nephew Henry and great-grand nieces Violet and Rosie. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Elizabeth Eberly and Alice Bosch and her niece Joan Bosch. A heartfelt thank you to Anne Roe and Bob Beaumier for the beautiful music, love, laughter and friendship they shared with Virginia over many years. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the dedicated staff of Providence St. Joseph Care Center for the care and kindness they provided to Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Names Retirement Fund, 2911 W Fort George Wright Dr, Spokane, WA 99224. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home with a Vigil Service following at 7 pm.
