Seabrook, N.H., formerly of Andover, Mass. ? Paul J. Durant, 70, of Seabrook Beach, N.H., formerly of Andover, Mass., passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a brief illness on Saturday at the Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt. He was born in Boston, October 14, 1941 and was raised and educated in Boston and Andover.
Paul was a graduate of Andover High School and also attended Northeastern University in Boston. He was the owner of Techprint, Inc. in Lawrence which he co-founded thirty-eight years ago.
Paul was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus #1078 in Andover. He served in the Coast Guard Reserves and was active in charitable, social, and business communities. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Robert Bellarmine and recently of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Seabrook, N.H.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and an adoring Pepe. His joy was his grandchildren. Also being at the beach and pool, his business, golf, playing 45?s, traveling with his family and friends, and vacationing in Marco Island, Fla. He lived and enjoyed every day to the fullest.
Paul was predeceased by his father, George C. Durant and his brother George K. Durant.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary T. (Czarnecki) Durant of Seabrook Beach, N.H.; his mother, Irene Gamache and her husband Gracien "Jack" of Andover; his son, Paul J. Durant, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Andover; his daughters; Christine Lutters and her husband Matthew of Burlington, Vt. and Nicole Smith and her husband Shane of Amesbury; his grandchildren, Tyler, Tabor and Morgan Smith, Paul III "Trey", Megan and Ella Durant and Dylan and Jake Lutters; and his sister-in-law, Laura Dickinson and her husband Wayne of Boulder, Colorado. He is also survived by Halina Czarnecki of Lawrence and her sons Walter Wojtak and Thadeus Czarnecki, Jr., and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 3 - 8 p.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 148 Haggetts Pond Rd., Andover. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 28 at 11 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association 460 Totten Pond Rd.
