Kotnik, Ronald J.\POYNETTE - Ronald J. Kotnik, belovedhusband, adored father and grandfather, passed on peacefully to be withthe Lord following a brave battle with illness on Tuesday, Dec. 16,2008, in Madison. Ronald was born on Nov. 8, 1936, in Sheboygan, theson of Joseph and Margaret (Mervar) Kotnik. Ron was a graduate of UW-Madisonreceiving a bachelor' s degree in finance and earning his lawdegree in 1962. He went on to work as a lawyer and became a partnerwith Lathrop & Clark, LLP, Madison, until the present time. On Dec. 27, 1980, Ron married his life' s partner and the love of hislife, Marilyn. Together they traveled the world, and enjoyed life' s experiences. Always with them were Ron' s proudest accomplishmentand greatest joy, his children. Ron also enjoyed time spent with friendsat Lathrop & Clark, his many friends at the Madison Elk' s Club,and listening to Dixieland music at the Avenue. Survivors include hiswife, Marilyn; his children, Joe (Khanh) Kotnik and grandchildren Aili,Jack Henry and William Kotnik of Minneapolis, Minn., Jeff Kotnik ofArgentina, Keely (Alex) Brice of Fayetteville, Ark., Blake Kotnik ofChicago, R. Barrett 'RB' Kotnik of Madison, and Zoe Kotnik of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his very loved sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Toolanen, Kathy Hakari, Joni Haniskow, Doreen Hillard and Carrie Jurasin; manynieces and nephews; other relatives in Sheboygan and close friends,the Kastenberg family of Poynette. He was preceded in death by his parents.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008,at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH in Poynette, with Father RaymondDischler presiding. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be heldfrom 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Pflanz ManteyMendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.
