- THE LATE ANGELA VLASIC
A funeral mass for the deceased Angela Vlasic was held on the 3rd of March, at St. Stefan?s Church in Chicago. She suffered a lot in her life, especially after the death of her husband Matija Vlasi?, who died on February 7, 1980. Her maiden name was Ko?ar.
The Germans moved them to Germany in 1941. The late Matija Vlasi? tried very hard to keep the family together. The Vlasi? family was a very close family. For example, when they came to the USA in 1950 to New York at the beginning of November. Soon thereafter, a hurricane hit New York, which made it unsafe to walk on the roads. They found St. Cyril?s Church which allowed the Vlasi? family into the hall under the church and provided them food. From there they went to Newton in N.J. In 1950, however, they came to Chicago. There, our late mother Angela watched over her family with love.
Daughters Rezka, Marija (Kranjec), Angelca, (Balakar), and sons: Franc, Stanko and Vinko mourn their mother.
The funeral mass was offered by Fr. Kalist Langerholz, it was celebrated by Fr. Fortunat Zorman. P. Vendelin Spendov accompanied the singing with the organ.
Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.
The Vlasi? family were always grateful to the Virgin Mary because she found them shelter in New York during the hurricane. When they became aware that their late husband and father, Matija Vlasi? was incurably sick, they rushed to Marija Pomagaj of Lemont. After the death of Angela's mother, they prayed again and reflected on the the past.
To all the Vlasi?s and their families, sincere condolences on the death of their mother, Angela. May she find peace in the Lord!
