Geoffrey G. "Jeff" Hebert, of Lakeville, formerly longtime resident of Middleboro, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Seasons Hospice, Milton, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Cornwell) Hebert, who predeceased him on March 8, 2009. He was born in Middleboro, son of the late George and Exzelia (Bourgois) Hebert. He served in the United States Army, during World War II. He was a foreman in a tannery. He served on the Board of Directors for the Council on Aging in Middleboro, was a member of the Lakeville Eagles, the V.F.W., and the Wankinquoah Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool and cribbage. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing, clamming, and scalloping. He was a coach for Babe Ruth Baseball. Survivors include four daughters, Barbara and her husband Ron Kershner of Crystal River, FL, Sandra and her husband Tony Silvia of Taunton, Linda and her husband Donnie Gamache of Lakeville, and Kathie and her husband Steven Mazzilli of Middleboro; two sisters, Arlene and her husband Bunny Werksman of Chicago, IL, and Beatrice and her late husband Bob Dudley of Lakeville; 11 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 1, from 4-7 p.m. in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 2, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery, Middleboro. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity.
