MacDONALD, Donald James
November 28, 1928 ? August 11, 2016
Mr. Donald J. MacDonald passed away at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Marie and family.
In 1954 Don married Florence (Gamache) in Edmonton, where they raised five children: Elaine (Bruce) Gibson, Diane (Dave) Hill, Donald Jr. (Candace) MacDonald, James MacDonald, Catherine MacDonald (Caroline MacDonald Davis). Don is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
On July 16, 1979, his wife Florence died after a courageous battle with cancer. On November 8, 1986, Don married Marie McGuire. Don was a native of Nova Scotia and a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S. He came to Alberta in 1952 and taught for thirty-four years with the Edmonton Separate School Board. He retired in 1986.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 18407-60 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 with Rev. Marc Cramer officiating. Interment will take place privately at a later date at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
