Albert Phillip Ludin, M.D., 87, of Springfield died at 11:38 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Hospital. He was born June 27, 1903, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Nathan and Flora Goldberg Ludin. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Dr. Ludin was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He attended medical school at the University of Yena in Yena, Germany, and at the University of Berlin. He served as a doctor for the U.S. Army during World War II. He practiced medicine for over 50 years, specializing in psychiatry and hypnotherapy. Dr. Ludin opened his practice in Springfield in 1946. He owned and operated the Lincoln View Sanitarium in Springfield for over 10 years. He taught hypnosis to physicians and dentists throughout Illinois.
Dr. Ludin was a member of the Temple B'rith Sholom, B'nai B'rith, Illinois State Medical Society, American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, Sangamo Club and Springfield Motor Boat Club.
Surviving are his wife, Frieda; two daughters; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.
Services at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, with Rabbi Barry Marks officiating. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
