Richard E. Fouche
Richard E. Fouche, 89, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Creston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at his home surrounded by family following a period of declining health.
He was born March 26, 1924 near Creston, the son of the late George and Meda Ettinger Fouche. He graduated from Creston High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 ? 1945, serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign and the invasion of Normandy. He later served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 ? 1952 during the Korean War.
On Oct. 16, 1954 he married the former Betty J. Bolen and she survives. He retired from Servomation Vending Co. in Wooster and in 1958 was ordained in the Baptist Church and ministered in several area churches. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign War and was a charter member of the World War II War Memorial Foundation.
He had made his home in Bradenton, Fla. since 1989 and attended First Baptist Church in Bradenton. This life was centered around serving the Lord and his family.
He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather to his wife of 58 years, Betty; his five children, Ricki Grimm, of Fort Myers, Fla., Tamara and Brian Gamache, of Lake Forest, Ill., Laura and Bert Copley, of Seville, Mark Fouche, of Creston and Kimberly and Ed Carpenter, of Creston; his grandchildren, Brandi Pettijohn, Jesse Copley, Alex Gamache, Zachary Carpenter and Briennon Carpenter; and two great-grandchildren Abby and Carli Pettijohn. He was preceded in death by son-in-law George Grimm, grandson Cody King and a sister Lucille Fouche.
