He then will be laid to rest with his wife, Jeanette, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Livermore Falls, ME. Joseph Emile Gamache OBITUARY CORINTH and MALTAJoseph Emile Gamache, 97, formerly of Corinth, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Wesley Heath Care Center in Saratoga Springs following a brief illness.Born on June 27, 1927 in Rumford, Maine, he was the son of the late Joseph Eudore Gamache and Beatrice (Gallant) Gamache.Emile graduated from Rumford High School in Maine.He married Jeanette Cloutier on July 15, 1950 in Jay, Maine, and the couple first resided in Rumford and Jay, Maine for a few years before moving to Corinth, where they lived for many years. She passed away May 23, 1999, following 48 years of marriage. More recently, he had been residing in Malta.Emile was first employed at International Paper Company in Maine, then worked for many years as a millwright and special machine mechanic at the International Paper Co. in Corinth until his retirement. He also began performing in Maine in 1945 and had a quartet, performing for 25 years at the famous Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs.He also owned and operated the Jessup?s Landing Motel in Corinth for 18 years.Emile was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Corinth for many years.He enjoyed studying engineering of airplanes, Jazz and popular music, building custom wooden furniture, reading, and family travel.Besides his wife and his parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Conrad Gamache.Survivors include six children, Tom Gamache of Philadelphia, PA, Janice Hepner of Corinth, Gary Gamache of Corinth, Judy DiGeorge of New Orleans, LA, Greg Gamache of Clifton Park, and Claudine Colon of East Falmouth, MA; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Sylvio Gamache of CO; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 1 Church St., Jay, Maine.He then will be laid to rest with his wife, Jeanette, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Livermore Falls.Arrangements are under the direction of the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth.
